What we collect and what we don't.

The short version

NELA Growth does not place tracking cookies, does not run advertising pixels, does not build a profile of you, and does not sell or share any data about visitors. We collect a small amount of aggregate, anonymized traffic information to know which sections of the site are useful.

What we collect

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a cookieless, privacy-first analytics service built into the platform that hosts this site. Cloudflare records:

• Page views (which URL was visited)
• Referrer (which site linked to us, if any)
• Browser type and operating system (anonymized aggregate only)
• Country (derived from IP address, not stored persistently)

This data is never tied to an individual visitor. There is no cookie, no fingerprint, no cross-site tracking, and no advertising network involvement. Read Cloudflare's privacy policy for the full technical picture.

The site also measures aggregate engagement with a small first-party script: how long the page is actually in view, how far down visitors scroll, and which sections of the page they reach. Each visit sends one anonymous data point with no identifier of any kind — we can see that "a visitor spent four minutes and reached the report builder," never who. This data is stored with Cloudflare alongside the traffic analytics above.

What we don't collect

• No cookies of any kind from NELA Growth itself
• No login or account system — there is no user data to lose
• No third-party advertising or social-network pixels (no Facebook, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight, etc.)
• No session recording or heatmap tooling

The feedback form

The site hosts one form: the feedback box at the bottom of the homepage. If you use it, we receive exactly what you submit — your message, an email address if you choose to include one, plus which parish view you were looking at and the time you sent it. Submissions are stored in the team's private feedback tracker (hosted by Notion) and are read by the Grow NELA and Crenshaw Analytics teams.

Feedback is used only to improve the platform, and an email address is used only to reply to you. Nothing you submit is published, added to a marketing list, or shared beyond the team.

To screen out automated spam, the form runs Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check from the same company that hosts the site. Turnstile does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.

Children

NELA Growth is a professional analytics platform aimed at parish leadership, community organizations, and analysts. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change the way we collect or use information, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes (for example, adding a third-party analytics tool) will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.
